Birth preparation

Join in on the weekly birth preparation courses, every Monday evening, in Diemen in between Amsterdam Oost and Zuidoost.

During this course we will use the best of all worlds. Pregnancy yoga, theory, breathing exercises, meditation and mindfulness. And theres always time for a personal question or story in the beginning or the end of the course. Every human being is different and that’s exactly what makes it so beautiful. Whatever your plans and wishes look like. You wil always profit from a good preparation.

And every for weeks you get the chance to take your partner or another lovely person that will support you during your birth, to the course. On these days we will learn more about the important role of your birth partner.

Learn to get to know your body and to trust your intuition. Learn how to handle tough situations and find the calm in the storm. Learn to stay close to yourself. Learn the basics of what happens in your body during birth. Learn positions that may help your during your birth. Learn how you can prepare your body for birth. Learn who you can turn to for help. Learn about the different interventions and what options you have. Learn to be an active part of the birth team instead of having birth happen to you.

Meditation and mindfulness

Meditation can help you stay grounded during your birth.

During the birth preparation courses we will experience different forms of meditation and keep practicing mindfulness. This might feel awkward in the beginning, especially if you don’t have experience with these practices. But with a lot of practice you will start to notice the value of mindfulness and meditation.

Personal counseling

Every birth is different. Every person is different. And every person has a different concept of what their “perfect” birth looks like. During the birth preparation courses we will learn about different options and will discuss them without judgment, so you can make a decision about what feels right for you.

It is also possible to arrange a home visit from me. Then we will go through all of your options and will create you birth route. During this visit you will be free to to ask all questions and share all your worries and wishes. By prioritizing them we will get to the core of your birth wishes. Many ways lead to your goal. That’s why we don’t create a birth plan, but a birth route. By knowing your deepest values, at each crossing you will take the exit that fits you best and be an involved and active part of the birth team. In this way your birth will truly be your birth.
